International Women's Day
The Netherlands, 6 March 2004
AN IMAGE OF A VISION – BY AND FOR WOMEN
In the context of International Women’s day, Feminenza Netherlands
organised an event with financial support of the municipality on
Saturday 6 March 2004, with the title: ‘Female, Woman and
then......?’
During the day a lecture and various workshops were presented
and creative expression was given to the question: “What
would you want to see for women in the world?”

It resulted in a painting, made by approximately 30 women, who
gave their answer to this question through colour and form and
by that created a graphic expression of their vision for women
in the world. Within this Blue Diamond in the middle of the painting
stands for freedom and space, which is needed for women to be able
to fulfil their potential; the crown stands for women and natural
leadership, the tulip for self respect and the five women, hand
in hand, for sisterhood and cooperation, which is needed if we
are to see a mutual future.
