International Feminenza Retreat
France, July 2005
The second international Feminenza retreat held in the South-West
of France took place in the rolling countryside near
Toulouse (16th-21st July). Ladies from England, Norway, Israel,
Holland and France gathered for 5 days of dialogue and contemplation
around the fundamental issues of gender development and harmonisation
of the different lives within us.
Hosted in a beautiful old manor house, the retreat was a very
enriching process of exchange and exploration around the life of
the tenant in us, which can be summed up as the development of
consciousness at all levels of ourselves. It involved new ways
of research, sensitivity work in nature, country walks, dance,
theatre and meditation work, as well as workshopping our views,
quiet moments of reflection, swims in the pool, the buzz of lively
conversations around the dinner table, and a day adventure in a
beautiful nearby French town.
It enabled us to deepen our understanding of ourselves, further
discover the ways and qualities that belong with our gender,
build new friendships, and was altogether a very nourishing experience
that left us feeling very still, strong and in touch with our inner
selves.
A thought in parting: the last of human freedom is to choose one’s
attitude in the face of what happens to you.
