Three Kinds of Confidence
Female
The female expresses her confidence in how she looks, how she
behaves and what she does. Confident people radiate the quality
of confidence, and one way to become more confident is to act it
from the outside in, if it is lacking from the inside out. Thus
through the act, more confidence will accrue to the person, because
in the eyes of others they will indeed be confident. Thus a smile,
a direct look in the eye, a head held high, a light, springy step,
a straight back and a clear voice as well as a strong handshake
and neat attire can all be symptoms of confidence, or a way to
gain more of this much-desired quality. Act the part and you will
surely become it.
Woman
Confidence for the woman springs from her skills and abilities.
So the question arises—what are you good at? What do you
love to do? Therein lies your strength and your confidence. A gathering
of ladies in Mexico, when asked to write down all the skills they
could think of that the attending women had learned throughout
life, at first foundtheir lists were quite short. It was pointed
out that they could all do something that the speaker dearly wished
she could do as well and that she envied them their fluency, capability
and ease. They looked at her with surprise. “You can speak
Spanish,” she told them, “and it’s going to take
me a long time to learn.” They smiled at her with indulgence
and quickly added a few more skills to their lists: "I can
walk" they wrote, "and talk and dance and read and write
..." and many more.
Lady
For the lady, her confidence is rooted in the qualities she represents.
Therefore patience, respect, honesty, dignity, serenity, humanity,
compassion and so many more give her belief in herself and the
self-knowledge that has nothing to prove, but radiates with a quiet
strength. Thus the lady has the special ability to console with
a look or nurture with a gesture or a kind word.
